I was never a prolific writer of poetry. In fact, I have never been as prolific a writer as I would like to be, but I began, in 1987, keeping my poetry rather than discarding it as I had previously. The earliest poem in this collection is “Rebellious” from 1987 written on a rainy Winter/Spring Sunday. Originally, I self-published this collection in a chapbook, that I designed, printed, and bound myself, entitled, Self is the Longest Journey, under the pseudonym Daibhidh Padraig MacEanruig which is not really a pseudonym so much as the Scots Gaelic version of my name. The collection was first published in May of 1991. Without further ado, I present the rebirth of Self Is the Longest Journey.
