A Monologue with the Æther

Self Is the Longest Journey

Reason

Reason that cruel indignity thrust upon us By an unknown twist of Fate. Rather is it not a grand joke of the universe That all, we do and make, is conquered By the unreasoning savages of Nature and Time. How willingly we share its bed Abasing ourselves to its fundament. Reason that great convincer grants the right To commit self-destructive crimes, we believe. Telling ourselves words we know to be lies, Reaching and grasping to take its approval. How willingly we abuse the World Seeking to justify our contradiction.
