Thoughts on the Tool Chain

The tool chain, what is it? For a software person, it’s the programs and languages chosen for projects. In my case, I’m writing about the means I use to produce this website. Let me list my tools:

nanoc
rsync
OSXFUSE
Ruby
vim
- MacVim specifically
Markdown
- Kramdown variant specifically
Sass via
- Compass
git

This list is by no means exhaustive, just what I use regularly. I’ll spend the rest of this week writing about the why I use these tools.

Update, 2014-06-01, added git to the list. A huge, important oversight, I left git off the list of my most well-used tools.
